My Fair Lady
Seattle Musical Theatre
7120 62nd Ave NE Seattle
This witty battle of the sexes pits snobby London linguist Henry Higgins against Eliza Doolittle, a Cockney flower girl plucked from the street, as he attempts to turn her into a well-spoken society woman. But his feisty pupil gives him much more than he bargained for. With a score full of instantly recognizable Lerner & Loewe songs like "The Rain in Spain," "I've Grown Accustomed to Your Face," "Wouldn't It Be Loverly?" and "I Could Have Danced All Night," it's no wonder My Fair Lady became a huge Broadway hit and, in 1964, was turned into an Oscar-winning film starring Audrey Hepburn. The acclaimed Seattle Musical Theatre kicks off its 40th anniversary season with this romantic charmer.
