Two 30-something dropouts hang out by the dumpster in back of a Vermont coffee shop in the quietly beautiful comedy The Aliens. As the burnouts meditate on music and philosophy, 'shrooms and Bukowski, a teenage employee tells them to hit the road. But instead of leaving, they decide to teach him everything they know. Playing at 12th Avenue Arts courtesy of Seattle's ReAct Theatre, this Obie-winning off-Broadway hit by Pulitzer Prize-winning playwright Annie Baker is a thoughtful and humorous look at friendship in a small town, featuring deft wordplay hailed as "gentle and extraordinarily beautiful" by The New York Times.
